Friday

Today I came in and took my temps. Then I watered the HCR-1 mice for the weekend. After that I started my janitorial. I vacuumed and swept 111, the quarantine room, Juans office, and 104. Then I helped lucy and Juan medicate and force feed snakes. I cleaned some while Juan and Lucy force fed. I also relocated them when we finished and put the babies in order on the rack. Then I cleaned the extraction table and vacuumed and swept the room.

Thursday

Today I helped lucy feed the snakes in 103 and the Cobras in 102 and the display. We also fed the babies and the skinny snakes. We cleaned as we fed and cleaned 24 cages. We set up a cage for the snake that Mark brought in from the Botanical Gardens. We are supposed to have a safety meeting. We also had to gather the smaller mice for the babies.

Wednesday

Today I came in and started to cut paper for the snake cages. Then I helped lucy gather the snakes that were going to be extracted from. After that we went to 111 and cleaned some of the dirty baby snakes and corals. We cleaned I think 14 or 13 together. Mark and the gang came to extract and I pippetted the venom. I processed the venom and when I finished I cleaned up my work area. Then I went and put all the paper towels on the shelf and put some of the TP on as well. I took the empty boxes to the twilight zone. I did my janitorial in room 115 and helped lucy lock up.

Tuesday

Today I came in and helped lucy cut paper and then took my room temps. Then I went to work in the HCR/1 mouse room. I cut a bunch of labels for the mice cages. Then I finished all the cages in the mouse room and helped juan clean the AC vents and put a new filter. Then I vacumed and mopped and took out my trash and put the dirty cages in the cage room. Then I cut more paper for the snake cages. After lunch I went with lucy to take the hard to open cages to get fixed but the man wasn't there so we brought them back. Then I helped pippett.

Thursday

Today I came in and set up some mice for an LD50. Then I went to help Lucy fed the snakes. I helped record and open the cages. Later I sacrificed 20 hoppers to feed the skinny snakes. We cleaned six cages in the Quarantine B room and 11 cages in the other quarantine room. Total we fed 164 snakes total. We also seperated the Grand Canyon rattle snakes and the copper heads from the display room to be fed. I took my room temps. I cleaned 30 of the large cages and sexed out my mice. I sacrificed the extras. I set up the mice for Gonzalo (sorry if its misspelled). Then I put them in labled bags and put them in the freezer. Then I took out my trash. I swept and mopped rooms 115, quarantine, 111, display, and balb/c mouse room. I also relocated the new Atrox to the Quarantine room B.

Tuesday and Wednesday

Tuesday I checked my room temp's. Then I got a bunch of cages together so I could change out the older ones. I cleaned and changed 62 cages. I also had to clean and wash two loads of dirty cages in the cage washer. I swept and mopped my room for the day. Today I took my room temp's and then got more cages together to finish changing the old ones. I cleaned and changed 13 more cages and pippetted for Mark and Lucy. Then I went back to my mouse room and continued to work I also cleaned one of the larger cages. I threw my trash out side in the dumpster and vacumed and mopped my mouse room. I also put the dirty cages in the dirty cage room. Now we are going to have a safety meeting.

Thursday

Today I took my room temps and then began to gather the mice to feed the snakes. In 111 we fed the babies and cleaned 11 cages. Then we fed the snakes in quarantine and clean two of them. We moved to room 115. I fed while juan cleaned the dirty cages then I cleaned the larger cages. We cleaned 15 total. After lunch lucy helped me clean the large Western Dimond back and one of the other cages. We fed some more of the snakes then bruno and I finished the last four by cleaning and feeding them. Then i put the left over mice in the freezer and cleaned the cart. Then I started to pippet the snake venom and helped Juan and Lucy in between snakes. Then I went back to count all the snakes we cleaned and wrote them down. I also recorded how many snakes we fed 119 snakes total.

Wednesday

Today I came in and unlocked some doors and then went to work in the rabbit room. I cleaned two rabbit cages and then vacuumed and mopped the room from there I mopped the HCR-1 mouse room. Then Mark came to extract and I pippetted. After that I scrubbed some mouse cages and put them in the cage washer. Then I mopped the prep lab. Now I think I am going to help lucy do some other things before we start our safety meeting. I will probably help lock up but I don't know for sure. Watched lucy wiegh out mice but set up the cage for them.

Tuesday

Today I came in after lunch. I took my room temps and began to work in my mouse room. I cleaned 20 of the smaller cages and two of the big ones before I went to class. I have an hour till five so I hope to finish the rest and take out my trash and water and feed the rabbits before we close up.

Friday at last!!

Today is finally friday thankfully. Today I took my room temps and helped lucy gather the snakes that where to be force fed and medicated. Then I went on the water my mouse room for the weekend. After that i vacummed and mopped the room. Then I went to do my janitorial work and swept and mopped all the snake rooms. Then I went to help Juan and Lucy to medicate I cleaned a few cages while they force fed and while we medicated. I put neoporine on the snakes while Juan held them. I helped force feed one of the corrals as well. I also recorded the info on the snakes that where medicated. Now I am going to help close up and clean up so we can leave for the weekend.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Tuesday I came and started by recording the temperatures on the all the snake rooms. Then I started to work in the Balb/c mouse room. I asked lucy to help me get the LD/50 ready and she did. I cleaned about 50 of the breeder cages and the experimental cages. Then I put the over wieght mice and under wieght mice into new cages and labeled them. After that I cleaned up and trew my trash. Wednesday I went with lucy to pick up two rabbits from the rabbit farm. Then I went back to working in my mouse room. I cleaned another 25 cages and sexed out the hoppers and made about six more new cages. I sacrificed the rest and cleaned up my work area. I took out my trash and helped lock up. Today I took my room temps and then started to gather the mice in 111 to start feeding. I got the papers ready and recorded while helping lucy feed all the snakes that were being fed which was 147 snakes.

Finally!! Friday at Last.

Today I watered the HCR/1 mice for the weekend. Then I gather the snakes that were to be medicated and put them in the extraction room. I put the neosporine on the snakes while juan held them. Some of the snakes are showing improvement. The timber's pit has decreased in size from last week and the one with the mouth desease has shown good improvement usually after we medicate it it hardly moves but this time it remained active. After that we put the snakes back and relocated a few. Then I cleaned up and vacumed our work area and began my janitorial work. After that I helped Juan water the snakes for the weekend.
