Thursday

Today I came in the morning to help lucy feed the snakes. I gathered the baby mice for the smaller snakes. We fed the snakes in 102 and cleaned some of the cages as we went along. Then we went to room 103 where Juan was tubbing the forest cobras. I watched and cleaned the cage while lucy held the cobra in the tube. We did both of the cobras. Then I recieved the boxes of paper towels and other things from one of the campus workers. I put the paper towels on the shelfs and placed the empty boxes in the twilight zone. I also took all of the snake room temps. before I started the day. Then we went to room 111 to feed the baby snakes in there and the skinny snakes. Then to the quarantine rooms to feed a couple of other babies. We fed 121 snakes in all. I went to change the rabbit pads but Bruno did that already. So I thanked him. I may do a couple of other things before lunch but for know thats all.

Wednesday

Today I took my room temeratures when I got here after lunch. Then I stamped the the paper that was in the supply closet. Then I helped Bruno take out the trash. After that I gathered the things for cleaning snake cages with Bruno. We cleaned 52 snake cages and watered 15 other cages in the atrox room 115. Then I helped lucy lock up the rooms that we weren't working in. Then I helped Bruno and lucy cut and fold paper for the snake cages.

Tuesday

Today I got some mice ready for the Ld 50. Then I started to clean the cages in the HCR-1 mouse room. I cleaned 20 small cages and 11 large cages. Then I vacummed my area I watched Juan do an autopsy on a snake that died. I sacrificed my mice after lunch. I changed the alchole in the the snakes that I am preserving. I mopped my room and took all of the snake room temp.'s. Then I pippetted for Juan and Lucy.

Friday

So far today I have refilled all the mammals water bottles and logged the snake room temperatures. I also recorded the freezer temperatures. I did my janitorial which was to vacuum and mop all the snake rooms. Then I assisted Lucy to clean 20 snake cages. 17 in room 111 and 3 in 115. After lunch I assisted lucy to gather snakes to be medicated. Then I helped medicate the snakes with lucy and Juan. After medicating I watched Juan and lucy force feed and assisted when needed. Then I tubed and held the coral snakes while lucy force fed them 7 in all. I logged this in the black note book for future references.

Wednesday

Today is a long day. I went to see about my finacial aid and spoke with Juan and Lucy about what I was told. I took my room temperatures then I began to work in my mouse room. I cleaned 35 small cages and 5 large cages. I also took out my trash and vacuumed my room. After lunch I continued to clean my room. I cleaned 40 small cages and the test mice cages. I also sexed the mice and set up six new large cages. Then I sacrificed all the left over hoppers and put them in the freezer. I cleaned up and swept my room.

Tuesday

Today I took my room temperatures when I got here. Then I wieghed out mice for the LD50. I cleaned 13 large cages and sacrificed 6 large cages. I cleaned the cages and placed them in the dirty cage room. I counted the mice and placed them in the freezer. I swept and mopped my room when I finished.

Today I took my room temperatures and watered the BALB/C mouse room. Then i clean the out side of the cage washer. I also helped to gather snakes so they can be medicated. I am helping Juan and lucy and Bruno to medicate them. When that is done I will probably cut paper and clean up for the week end.

Thursday

Today is janitorial day. I vacumed and mopped all the snake rooms including both labs the supply room and both offices. Then I helped lucy relocate snakes. I also took all the room temperatures.

wenesday

Today I helped Bruno clean 31 snake cages. Then helped lucy pipet and process snake venom.
After that I helped bruno seperate snakes for feeding the next day. I also helped get out mice for feeding on thursday.

Finally got it!

Well I finally got my blog set up after a couple of failed attempts. Today I cleaned the two rabbit cages and mopped the floors in two rooms. The day is not over but I have to go.
