Well its been a while and a lot has changed but I'm back at the NTRC. I milk the snakes now and work full time. Took me a while to remember my password but I got it. Well by for now got to go back to work.

Wednesday

Today I came in and helped lucy in room 102. We cleaned 6 snakes then Bruno and I cleaned 7 snakes and watered 23 snakes. We cleaned snakes in room 103. We watered 6 and cleaned 26. Then we cleaned 23 in room 104. I set up the pee cups and numbered them. I also cut more parafilm. I stamped 11 packs of paper while Bruno cut and lucy folded. Then I pipeted for Marks extraction. I also helped lucy take the snakes the 103 that were to be extracted from. Bruno and I took out the cobra in the display and put it back after Mark extracted from it. I processed the venom and recorded the information on the list. I placed the venoms in the freezer.

Tuesday December 19, 2006

Today I came in and made the list for the extraction tomorrow and assissted in the preparation of the epidorphs. Then I helped bruno clean the snakes in 111 we cleaned 73 snakes. After lunch I helped bruno unload the mouse food. Then we went to clean in the quarantine rooms. We cleaned 43 snakes in there total. We through out the trash and helped lucy move her desk.

Monday

Today I came in and unlocked the snake room doors. Then I cleaned the rabbit's cage and gave him fresh water and food. Then I went to the HCR-1 mouse room and cleaned all the cages in the room. I sacrificed the hoppers and swept and mopped the floor. After that I threw out my trash. After lunch lucy and I started cleaning in room 103. Then we went to 104 and 111 we cleaned 57 snakes total. We also watered a bunch of snakes and changed the water dishes for the cottonmouths.

Thursday

Today I came in and printed new feeding record sheets. Then I began to right down the snake numbers that where to be fed. I gathered the smaller mice and took the materials needed to the rooms we needed to feed in. Lucy and I worked with the cobras with Juan and cleaned and fed them. Then we went and fed rooms 102 and 103. After that we clean the dirty snake cages in 104. Then we cleaned and fed the two baby timber rattlesnakes in 111. After that we went to feed the skinny snakes. We cleaned 3 more cages in the quarantine room. We fed 130 snakes total. After we finised feeding I clean off the cart and counted the amount of snakes we fed.

Wednesday

Today I came checked the room temps. I recorded those that weren't recorded. I cut some paper and folded when Bruno arrived. Then I took the two racks of snakes that where going to be extracted from the room 103. I helped lucy clean the cages that were dirty in the extraction list. Then Mark arrived and I pippetted the venom and processed it. I placed them in the freezer and locked it. I cleaned up my area when I finished. Then I proceeded to the Quarantine room to clean snakes with Lucy. We cleaned and watered the two rooms. We cleaned 7 snakes in 111 and 12 in the quarantine room then some more in the isolation room. I cleaned up the work area and that is all for the day.

Tuesday

Today I cleaned the Hcr-1 mouse room I set up 3 new cages with the hoppers and sacrificed 4 of the adult cages. I mopped and swept. I took out my trash. I cleaned the two cages in the rabbit room and moved the 2 rabbits to clean cages I rewatered them and gave them more food. I pippeted for the extraction and aided in relocating snakes although we stopped the extraction early.

Friday

Today I came in and loaded the cage washer. Then I went to the Balb/c room and watered the mice. I checked the rabbits and the HCR-1 mice. Then I began my janitorial of all the snake rooms. I vacuumed 115,111,102, 103,104 and the display room and preplab as well. Then I mopped all the rooms. I unloaded the cage washer and placed the cages in the cage room. I checked all the temperatures and logged them on the recording sheet. I locked he doors behind me.
